VIDEO: Starlink satellite train wows stargazers in Abbotsford and beyond

Clear skies in the Fraser Valley this weekend provided beautiful nights for stargazing.

And, as it turned out, Starlink watching.

SpaceX launched 53 more satellites into orbit on August 19, following a successful rocket launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida. According to the website EarthSky, there are now nearly 3,000 SpaceX satellites in orbit, with many more as Elon Musk’s company. Internet connectivity continues to increase worldwide.

In the Fraser Valley, people posted photos, videos and general curiosity about satellites to local Facebook pages.

Andrew Grimeau sent a video of SpaceX satellites crossing the sky in a train formation above the Matsqui area of ​​Abbotsford.

For those who haven’t yet seen the satellites cross the sky, there will be two more launches later this month, on August 28 from Florida and August 30 from California.
