A man in his 50s has died after being hit by a car in the parking lot of a shopping center in Lachine.
The 53-year-old man was getting out of his parked car around 4 p.m. when he was struck by a moving vehicle, according to Montreal police spokeswoman Mariane Allaire Morin.
The collision happened outside the Galleries Lachine shopping center near Remembrance St. and 32nd Ave.
The accident caused the two vehicles to crash into the shopping center near the Pharmaprix and Maxi stores, the police spokesman said.
The 58-year-old female passenger of the hit vehicle was also hospitalized, but her condition is not critical.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the other car, a 76-year-old man, was admitted for nervous shock.
Police are still investigating what may have caused the collision.
