God of War Ragnarök launches on November 9 and gets a new trailer

God of War Ragnarök will hit PS5 and PS4 on November 9, Sony revealed on Wednesday. The action and adventure video game also has a new CGI trailer that sees Kratos and his son Atreus in battle.

Ragnarok’s sleek Collector’s and Jötnar editions were also unveiled, both with a 16-inch replica of Thor Mjölnir’s hammer, along with other physical and digital extras. Each includes a steel box, but includes a digital download code instead of a game disc.

If you don’t need the clutter, you can opt for deluxe standard or digital versions; the latter includes in-game items and various non-physical extras.

All editions can be booked on July 15, starting at 10:00 ET in the US (10:00 local time in other regions). Prices were not revealed, but you can expect collector’s and Jötnar editions to be expensive.

It is the sequel to the amazing God of War of 2018, which came out on PS4 (also hit PC last January) and followed the couple on an adventure that saw them face off against gods and monsters from mythology Nordic. Kratos knew a thing or two about fighting divine beings from his previous adventures, so it’s quite comforting that he was able to teach his son the family business.

The 2018 game had sold 19.5 million copies in October last year, placing it among the best-selling PS4 games.

Now playing: look at this: should you change the color of your PS5?
