Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance in a floating astronaut suit during the MTV Video Music Awards in New Jersey on Sunday.
The 59-year-old actor was seen floating high above the stage as the chain’s Moonman logo with only his face visible in a helmet in his first major public appearance since his defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard, 36 years old.
Johnny wasn’t in the suit, but his voice could be heard saying, “I just want you to know that I’m available for birthdays, Bar Mitzvahs, Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, vigils, anything old you need.”

The Depp v. Heard trial was held in Fairfax County, Virginia from April 2022 to June 2022 and its live stream was widely viewed and generated a lot of social media traffic.
The jury found in favor of Johnny, who was awarded $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages from Amber. Punitive damages were later reduced to $350,000 due to a cap imposed by Virginia state law.
