Queen’s death – latest: Funeral date revealed as Harry and Meghan meet William and Kate

Harry and Meghan join Prince and Princess of Wales in floral tributes to Queen

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have joined the Prince and Princess of Wales for a stroll around Windsor Castle, moments after the Queen’s funeral date was announced.

Harry and Meghan joined William and Kate in public for the first time since Commonwealth Day on March 9, 2020, as they inspected flowers and balloons before a site walk on Saturday.

A royal source said the new Prince of Wales asked his brother and his wife to join them to watch the tributes.

Shortly before her appearance, the Duke of Norfolk announced that the Queen’s funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey on Monday, September 19 at 11am.

It comes after King Charles III met Prime Minister Liz Truss this afternoon as members of the royal family wept as they read tributes to the late Queen at Balmoral.

Senior members of the royal family, including the Princess Royal, the Duke of York and their daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, spent just under 10 minutes perusing messages and admiring flowers left by the crowd before returning at Balmoral Castle.
